Description:

The histories of Africa and the African Diaspora have been locally, nationally, and internationally recognized as central to the human story, yet it has not been sufficiently studies. The documentation and preservation of the Black experience and contributions to society are an integral part of the history of Alachua County and Florida.

 

The purpose of the ACAAA Historical Society, Inc. is to promote the study, teaching, research, preservation, and dissemination of African, African American History, and Diaspora Studies in Alachua County.
